Review
While you may not be able to stay at our friends’ house, if you can find another spot for your lodging needs, exploring Fort Collins is a must! The scenery can’t be beat, and there are tons of amazing food, coffee, and beer spots to try. And, if you’re an avid biker, hiker, or love walking around town, the off-street trail system there is extensive and can take you pretty much anywhere through the city.

Towmads Top Tips
- Come thirsty because there is an endless number of breweries to enjoy.
- Early spring weather can be unpredictable (as we learned the hard way) so come prepared for anything if traveling that time of year.
Nearby Things We Enjoyed
- New Belgium Brewing – We have always loved their beer and Harry even wrote a paper on the company when he was in college, so stopping here for some refreshments after a long walk was great!
- Hot tubbing in the snow – Our friends’ new place came with a hot tub, which, in the snow, was as warm and relaxing as it sounds.
- Bindle Coffee – We loved Bindle so much, we went there a couple of times during our stay in the area. The coffee was perfect, and they have lots of mouthwatering breakfast and bakery items to choose from.
- Self-guided Ghost Tour – If you’ve read some of our other posts, you’ll know we’re into ghost stories and macabre history of old towns. Since we didn’t have enough time to book a real tour, we decided to investigate a few spots said to have a spooky past on our own: Walrus Ice Cream, The Armstrong Hotel, and the Avery Building. Check them out…if you dare!
- The Elizabeth Hotel – We stopped in here for a fun and tasty brunch experience. The food, coffee, and bloody marys were all delicious.
- Zwei Brewing – Great brewery with outstanding locally made, German-style beers. They had a fantastic outdoor space and a rotating selection of food trucks to get some tasty snacks from.
