Fort Worden State Park is AWESOME and there is a never ending amount of things to see and do both in the park and around town.
About
Hidden gun emplacements, expansive parade lawns and restored Victorian-era Officers homes place history front and center at Fort Worden State Park. Fort Worden State Park is a 432-acre multi-use park with more than 2 miles of saltwater shoreline. Sandy beaches, tennis courts, and a marine museum are just a few reasons to stay overnight at the park, plus you are just a few miles away from enjoying local shops and galleries in Port Townsend. The beach campground (where we’ve stayed) has 50 full-hookup sites, but be sure to book early because this places can be very hard to get a spot at.

Review
Fort Worden State Park is AWESOME!!! The campsites themselves are very nice and we appreciate the full hook ups. There are two campground areas here but we highly recommend staying at the Beach Campground for the best experience. There is a never ending amount of things to see and do both in the park and around town. Biking, hiking, crabbing, tennis, bars, breweries, old school movie theatre, haunted castle, … the list goes on and on. About the only knock against it is how hard it can be to snag a spot. You can book 9 months in advance or try your hand at snagging a cancelation which is what we did.
Trailerability
Getting to the park can be a little confusing because the map apps and the signs don’t always line up for what route to take. Depending on the route you take to the park, the turn into the park entrance can be a little tight (as was evident by one of the entrance brick pillars having been knocked down when we were there one time).
Once in the park follow the signs to the registration building (go to the first stop sign then hang a right, then it will be up the road a little bit on your left with RV parking spaces for registration across the street on your right).
